25th
April 2003
Bright
sun, a cold wind and low water. Not exactly text book conditions
but then as the old gillies used to say " if your fly is not in
the water, you can't catch fish "! This beautiful young Sea
Trout is testament to just that. Taken on a #14 Double the fish
was safely returned to fight another day.

The great
weather continued in April! Once again basking in summer
like temperatures our guests have been enjoying some
tremendous fishing with some excellent wild Brown Trout,
plenty of lake Rainbows and for the adventurous, razor toothed
Pike! Here are some of the most memorable
moments, images and comments
from the month of April.

4th
- 7th April David
Lyons & Richard Suthers : The
first "extended course" of the season.
4 days of pure fishing taking in small still water,
reservoir and river. Casting, knots and matching
the hatch were all covered in detail and we even had
time to catch a few fish! |

April
12 & 13th Move
over gents it's time for the ladies! This is Lucy
Parker from Plymouth enjoying the spoils of a 2
day course she received as a gift voucher from her
husband. Here's what she had to say about it ... |

|
|
"
As well as asking you what exactly I have to buy to get
me started on fly fishing I also wanted to say thanks a
million for the weekend. Your tuition and company
were great and it's hard to put into words just what a
fabulous time I had, everything about it was perfect and
there wasn't one aspect of the fly fishing that I didn't
enjoy. You said I wasn't to bore my husband when I
got back - are you mad? how could I resist? But I
went one better and bored everybody else who came within
striking distance. The photos have practically
been worn away with me constantly showing them to
people! " ( I think she might be hooked! -

Evening
Rise on Chew
Having
had success with the Pike during the morning Clive then
returned to the boat for an evening of Trout Fishing on
Chew. He was not disappointed taking 4 fish on
nymphs including a Brown Trout and enjoying this
magnificent sunset. |

"
I just like to say what a fantastic two days we had and how amazingly
different the days were, one day on the lake and one on the river. It
has
been a terrific introduction to fly fishing and we are both chomping
at the
bit to have another go. Thanks again for your help and support. "
