August
remained warm, certainly one of the best summers the U.K. has
seen for a long time. River fishing remained tricky
because of low water conditions, but even so my guests still
caught fish, and plenty of novices enjoyed their first outing,
several receiving Gift Vouchers
I spent 22
days out on the water with guests, but before that find out
what I was up to in early August ...

| 1st
- 3rd August 2003 - THE CLA GAME FAIR, Harewood House,
Yorkshire.
I
was privileged to be asked to demonstrate at one of
the worlds largest game fairs during 2003, The Country
Landowners Association or CLA for short. Teaming
up with Henry Gilbey we provided demos in saltwater
fly fishing and compared regular sea angling tactics
with those used by today's fly fishers. The show
included distance casting techniques , fishing with
poppers and how to fight a shark on fly tackle, Henry
rowing a boat to simulate the fish !!! |

The show went down well
with a couple of good reviews in the press and I am
pleased to announce that you will be able to catch
Henry and I at next years show to be held at Blenheim
Palace, Oxfordshire, from 23rd
to 25th July 2004.

13th -
14th August 2003
Liz
purchased Frank a gift voucher
for
Christmas 2002,
and booked in for a mid August course. They both
caught a few fish, enjoyed drinks at the local inn
during the afternoon and topped up the tan at the same
time. Can
you think of a better present ?! Find out more

21 -
22nd August 2003
Mike
( the father ) and Tom ( the son ) came during a short
spell of cooler weather during August, but managed
fish on both days. Tom did very well catching
fish up to 4lbs and learning to cast in under
2hours. Mike also did very well putting his 20
year old rod and line back into service after a long
break! Of course for those of you without tackle
Nick
Hart Fly Fishing
provides top quality equipment, and can help advise on
requirements at the end of each course.

25 - 28th
August 2003 - 4 Day Course
I meet
all sorts of great characters when teaching / guiding
and Tim Lee was no exception. One of the easiest
going chaps I have ever met Tim sorted his casting
during his course of 4 days
and sampled river, lake
and saltwater fly
fishing. In the end it was River fishing which
became his passion and I am looking forward to Tim's
return next year for a further couple of days spent on
the river.

What
our guests say ...
Many
thanks for a great weekend which was most enjoyable and also very
instructive. I know I learnt a great deal.
Mike
Slipper, Swindon, May 2003
The day was one of the most relaxing
and enjoyable that I can remember in a long time - a
superb antidote to the stresses of the office and
probably the best Christmas present I have ever had. Ewan
Davy, Devon, June 2003 Thanks
for everything that you did last week. I had a
fantastic time. You have taught me so much and kindled a passion - I
believe! Tim
