So after a
winter tapping away on the computer, a weekend away tweaking
those casting skills with the APGAI boys and more than a few
fish from that far flung land, New Zealand, I found myself on
the banks of the ever stunning Exe Valley Fishery.
Things got off to a flying start !!!

FIRST
FISH OF THE 2004 SEASON !
My
first course of 2004 was with Richard Pickford from
the South East. During cold but clear conditions
he managed to get a very nice roll and overhead cast
going. Not long afterwards he was making his
first tentative casts and before long this quality
spring Rainbow Trout was taking to the air in
disgust! With knots and flies covered and an
equally productive day out on Burton Springs, Richard
headed off vowing to return in the summer.

Surprise
Brown Trout Brown Trout and a NEW small stillwater.
On
the left is Andrew Cox with a lovely grown on Brown
Trout from Exe Valley. Caught on a one day
course in cold, windy conditions this fish went back
to fight another day. Not content with just this
fish alone, Andrew went on to catch 5 more !
On
the right, my mate Wayne Thomas with a quality fish
from a new venue. I reckon it is
going to be VERY popular!
