Wimbleball Lake
Brompton
Regis, Somerset. The jewel in the crown of Exmoors
stillwater Trout Fishing, this really is a fantastic venue.
Situated in tranquil farmland the lake is quite long and narrow,
providing several ' arms ' to fish and shelter in poor
weather. A varied range of tactics and technique work
including dry fly and sunk line metods. For guided boat
trips have a look here. |
 |
Clatworthy Reservoir
Wiveliscombe,
Somerset. A stunning venue, smaller than Wimbleball so not
quite so daunting. Great stocks of fish which are bred on site,
with a good wild population also. Try June for good dry
fly fishing but always pack a few densities of sinking line as
this venue responds well to subsurface tactics. For guided
trips have a look here. |
 |
Wistlandpound,
South
Molton, Devon. 40 acres of bliss set within a stunning
forest. This fishery offers Trout in the 1 1/2 to 2lb
bracket but expect the odd surprise. Natural Brown Trout
present that will take dark flies fished quickly. Permits
are available from various local outlets, not at the
fishery. Check out the Wimbleball link above to be taken to
the South West Lakes Trust site and further info. Guided
Fishing |
